Amnesty International estimate at least 17,000 people have been killed in Boko Haram attacks in recent years, but local knowledge estimates at least twice that number. On top of that millions have been displaced, forced from their village homes in the North East to seek help in refugee camps or with relatives or friends in other cities. The normal family unit has suffered as wives find themselves without husbands, and children, in many cases, without parents. Many of these children are cared for by extended families but often the financial burden is too great. That’s where Christian Faith Homes steps up.
Now we love, shelter, feed, disciple and educate 82 children and youth. Some of these children are traumatised: they have seen terrible things and need extra love, care and patience.
