Jarmai’s family were idol worshippers and his father, a subsistence farmer, had 3 wives. As he grew old enough Jarmai went with his elder brother to tend cows. After about a year his father died and his uncle married his mother, as is traditional. Jarmai lived with them until they decided to send him to an Islamic school, although he was not a Muslim.
After a year there, 2006-7, Jarmai told his parents he was suffering in the school and unwilling to go back, so instead his uncle took him to stay with Bab Zagi to begin Christian discipleship for one year. Then he was brought to CFI for secondary education and bible training.
