In a rural area of a strongly Muslim region, a preacher declared the gospel to the Markus family who were Muslim subsistence farmers. God touched them and they became Christians before the birth of Victor and Irmiya. All the schools within reach of their home are Quranic schools, where only the Quran is recited, so some of the children were not receiving an education. The family could not afford boarding schools which are not Quranic for all 6 children.
At a bible training school Victor’s father attended a pastor suggested to the father that the boys could come to CFI in Jos and be educated, and the father gratefully accepted.
